Materials Science RUB researcher elected as chairman of Gesellschaft für Materialkunde
The Bochum-based engineer Alexander Hartmaier is not only involved in his research.
Prof Dr Alexander Hartmaier was elected as the next Chairman of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde (German Society for Materials Science and Engineering). His term of office begins on January 1st, 2017 and lasts for two years. The engineer is member of RUB’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Advanced Materials Simulation (ICAMS) and of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The German Society for Materials Science and Engineering is the largest technical-scientific society in materials science and engineering in Europe. Since its foundation in 1919, it has bundled the competencies within the field of materials science and engineering as ambassador of its members from academia and industry – and as a warrantor for the successful advancement of the field.
