Following the new Coronavirus Protection Regulation in the state of NRW, the Rectorate at RUB has decided that no in-person teaching or examinations should take place from 16 December 2020 until 10 January 2021.

Exceptions only exist for examinations and preparatory measures for which postponement is unacceptable or impossible. These measures also include lessons for the purposes of examination preparation, which can still be held in-person until 18 December 2020. Lecturers and examiners can apply for special authorisation from the Rectorate for these exceptions.

Places of learning closed, lending continues

The University Library and individual departmental libraries can no longer be used as places of learning, although they are still offering lending and scanning services. The places of learning in the dining hall, the cafeteria and at Blue Square also remain closed.
Further regulations on possible free examination attempts or extensions to the standard period of study will be announced in the coming days.
