From now on Vaccination offer for students

The Bochum vaccination centre has set up special services for students.

Update from 16 July 2021

At the Bochum vaccination centre, vaccinations with the first dose are now possible without appointment.

Original news from 9 July 2021

There are sufficient quantities of vaccine available for students at the Bochum vaccination centre. These are mRNA preparations, such as the vaccine from BioNTech/Pfizer. Appointments can be arranged via the website www.116117.de or via the website of the Westphalia-Lippe Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Westfalen-Lippe).

The vaccination centre service is also aimed at international students. Further information about who is eligible for a vaccination in Germany and a contact address for questions can be found on the websites of the International Office at RUB. The International Office has organised two group sessions for vaccinations on 15 and 17 July, which can be booked here. English-language advice is ensured at these sessions.

Students who do not live in Bochum can also contact their regional vaccination centre. Many cities in NRW now have sufficient quantities of vaccine available.

Enabling a safe return to in-person teaching

“I am delighted to now be able to offer students of the Bochum universities vaccines in Bochum,” says Prof. Dr. Kornelia Freitag, Vice Rector for Academic and International Affairs at RUB. “I am calling on all students, and also future students, to make use of the opportunity to get the vaccination and thus protect themselves and their fellow students. The more students that are vaccinated in autumn, the more safely we can return to in-person teaching on campus.”
