IT Services No more chip card as of May 2022

By then, two-factor authentication via smartphone will be available, including at E-Campus.

As of May 2022, the chip card will no longer work for authentication at E-Campus and the Identity Management Portal. Therefore, IT-Services recommends that all users set up two-factor authentication via smartphone. They should do so as soon as possible, because the current chip card certificates will no longer be updated after December 2021.

Students have been able to use the smartphone for authentication since August 2020 and employees since August 2021. Until now, the setting was optional, and it will become standard when the chip card expires.

Frequently asked questions and answers about two-factor authentication via smartphone are available on the IT Services website. The website also provides information on how to set up two-factor authentication correctly and what alternatives are available for users who don’t have a smartphone.
