Meeting Dialog for Students in the Context of the Middle East Conflict

The Anti-Discrimination Office invites students to discuss their concerns and support options on January 10.

On January 10, 2024 at 4 p.m., the Anti-Discrimination Office at Ruhr University Bochum invites all students to a digital exchange on “Dialog on the concerns of students at Ruhr University Bochum in the context of the war in the Middle East”.

“Since the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 and the ensuing war in Gaza, we’ve seen that people on campus are affected by the conflict – directly or indirectly,” says Anti-Discrimination Officer Michalina Trompeta. “We are therefore keen to discuss the concerns of our students in the context of this war. We’d also like to provide information about our support options.”

What will be covered at the meeting?

After introducing Ruhr University’s Anti-Discrimination Officer, the team from the Anti-Discrimination Office will explain the reasons why the dialog is taking place and provide an overview of incidents at German universities. The team will then open the discussion with the students.

Participate

The dialog will be held on Zoom. You’ll receive your access details after registration. You’ll be able to register until right before the meeting starts by sending an email to antidiskriminierung@rub.de.
