Ruhr University takes a stand for inclusion
The University is working to create an inclusive environment.
May 5 is the European Day of Protest for the Equality of People with Disabilities. Ruhr University is committed to the inclusion of all university members with disabilities or chronic illnesses. This is especially true right now, as inclusion and participation are increasingly under pressure. For example, the government is currently discussing highly problematic austerity measures and calling for cuts to inclusion programs.
We want more people with disabilities to find their way to the university, successfully complete their studies, and, if they choose, pursue an academic career. That is why we are working to create an inclusive environment at Ruhr University. We consistently address barriers and risks of discrimination in collaboration with TU Dortmund. We share best practices and create an accessible work environment so that people with disabilities can reach their full potential.
