4 Things Students Need to Know About Re-registration
The re-registration period for the 2026/27 winter semester is now open.
Every semester, it's the same routine: if you want to continue your studies, make sure to pay your social contribution on time.
Here's a brief overview of the most important information:
1. Meet the deadline
Students must transfer their social contribution to Ruhr University by August 28, 2026. The payment must reach the university's account by that date. Make sure to initiate the transfer in good time to avoid a late fee.
2. Pay the social contribution in full
The social contribution for the 2026/27 winter semester is 380 euros. This includes the semester ticket (226.80 euros) and contributions to AKAFÖ (130 euros) and AStA (23.20 euros).
3. Use the designated payment reference
Your personal payment details are available in eCampus (under the “Finance” menu item, then “Instructions for Paying the Social Contribution”). Be sure to include your personal payment reference so your payment can be automatically matched to your account.
4. Check the status
You can also check eCampus to see whether your payment has been received. A few days after your payment has been received, you'll be able to download your certificate of enrollment for the winter semester.
