Earthquake relief Mobilising the Ruhr University Bochum community
The level of support for the victims in the earthquake region in the Turkish-Syrian border region is overwhelming. Stories, tips and advice are now available on a single website.
“Seeing as the extent of the devastating earthquakes and its aftermath is becoming more and more overwhelming with each passing day, countless tips and advice have been pouring in regarding the efforts undertaken by our community. We are deeply moved, and the Ruhr University Rectorate expressly endorses these contributions,” says Rector Professor Martin Paul. “Our hearts are deeply touched by the stories of earthquake victims and their relatives who share their pain and their fears with us. We are shaken to the core. At the same time, it shows how important every form of support is.”
In order to bundle the various aid and relief resources in one place, the editorial team has set up a central website. It provides information about the efforts made by the Ruhr University community, tips on how to donate money, contact points for people at the university who have been affected by the earthquakes, as well as the stories of university members who have become involved in many different ways.
