Excellence Strategy RUB creates knowledge networks

RUB is competing for the title “University of Excellence” with the concept Creating Knowledge Networks.

With two Clusters of Excellence RUB qualifies for the institutional line of the Excellence Strategy. The application was submitted 10 December 2018. The final decision will be announced 19 July 2019.

Interview with Rector Professsor Axel Schölmerich on Creating Knowledge Networks

RUB has successfully completed the first round of the Excellence Strategy. Starting in 2019, funding has been secured for two clusters of excellence:

Cyber Security in the Age of Large-Scale Adversaries (Casa) and
Ruhr Explores Solvation (Resolv): Understanding and designing solvent-based processes – in collaboration with TU Dortmund University.

“Thanks to the successful performance of our top researchers and the two clusters we are confidently entering the second round,” says Rector Professor Axel Schölmerich. “Creating Knowledge Networks is a convincing and coherent strategy reflecting the spirit of RUB and the exceptional performance of the recent past.”
