Special edition Science magazine Rubin on IT Security

Intelligent monkeys, mathematical lattice fences and holes in a computer housing: find out what they have to do with IT security in our Rubin special edition.

For many people, no doubt, what really counts is that technology works like it’s supposed to and they don’t have to worry about the details. IT applications should first and foremost be easy to use. IT security is of secondary importance. This is not the case at the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security and the Cluster of Excellence CASA, short for “Cyber Security in the Age of Large-Scale Adversaries”. The IT experts at Ruhr University Bochum strive to stay one step ahead of attackers. They are aided in their efforts by intelligent monkeys, mathematical lattice fences and holes in a computer casing, for example. Find out what this is all about in the science magazine Rubin. A special edition on IT security was published on 3 July 2023.
